Can reuseable diapers really save you money

From BumGenius to G-diapers and more. Reusing diapers can save you money and it need not be hard or time consuming. But take note of the following tips to make sure you really are saving money and not just the environment.

1) Don't purchase expensive disposable inserts

Some disposable inserts can cost you as much as 25 cents each. Now considering the fact that you can get good quality disposable diapers for just a 5 to 10 cents more, you are clearly throwing your money away. Opt for the reusable instead.

2) A bucket of soaking water

Throw your dirty reusable into a bucket of soapy water. This keeps the poo from getting hard, sticky or smelly until you get enough dirties to make a wash advantageous. (Which really doesn't take very long)

3) Detergent Shopping

Baby detergent is a worth while cost but it isn't always worth paying more money just because it has the word "baby" on the bottle. What is important is that the detergent is not scented and that it doesn't have any harmful ingredients that can irritate your babies skin. You can get this out of a cheaper detergent, just check the label and ingredient listing. For example: All - Free and Clear.
